This late 17th century farm was home to the English-born Hollywood actress Elizabeth Allan and later to the famous author Leonard Malcolm Saville, the author of many children's books including the Lone Pine series.
During World War II Leonard was evacuated to Shropshire, returning in 1942 to be reunited with the rest of his family.
