Introduction
Walk over the River Lea and gaze across its valley. One of the main
rivers in Hertfordshire, it rises as a chalk stream – one of only 200
or so in the world.

To begin: Turn right out of East Lane car park and walk
to the High Street. Turn right at The Bull, cross the bridge over the
river and turn left at the roundabout. Take the first turning on the
right, Rose Lane.
