Main Description: Click to expand/contract
This remarkable church was built by Sir Lyonel Lyde in 1778; it has a Palladian-style frontage with Doric columns. The architect was Nicholas Revett.
Sir Lyonel is buried under one of the pavilions that lead from the church and his wife is buried under the other. Legend has it that Sir Lionel was on bad terms with his wife and decided that "what the Church united in life, it should keep separate in death". The church is usually open to visitors.
