Main Description: Click to expand/contract
The Forge was the third site occupied by the Westwood blacksmithing business which spanned three generations of the same family. The first site was behind what was then the Two Brewers public house, a 17th century building on the corner of King Edward Place and the High Street. In the 1930s, the smithy moved to Bull Yard, in the area now occupied by The Bull car park, and to this building in the 1960s. The business finally closed in 19??. The building is now used by parish council volunteers as a storage space and workshop.
